One of the best things that I like to do on this site is getting input from friends, readers, and others about their personal opinion on paint sprayers. The following will be two Graco Airless Paint Sprayer Reviews on two of their most popular models.
A reader who is in the home designer business will look at the Graco X5 Airless Paint Sprayer, while a homeowner will look into the Graco Project Painter Plus.  As a professional painter I sometimes overlook the simple things such as ease of setup frankly because I with my experience, I rarely have to read directions to figure out how a paint sprayer works. With that being said, I look to friends and readers of this site to give a review for those who have little paint spraying experience, thus helping our readers out better.  If you are interested in finding a quick chart for the best uses for each of these sprayers then view our chart below

Graco X5 Airless Paint Sprayer by Adam Gadsden
My name is Adam Gadsen and I am a home designer who wanted to save some money on remodeling projects. I chose to paint instead of hiring a contractor because the last person I hired messed up on the job. And despite the fact that the paint job was sloppy, I still had to pay for labor and materials. After I wasted money, I decided to go with the Graco x5 airless paint sprayer. I chose this model because it is meant for professionals who are working on larger projects.
My Background
I am 35 years old and have been working in various construction trades since the age of 17. Starting off as a general laborer at the age of 17 I have
worked half of my life building homes in the suburban Boston area.  In the last few years, my focus has been on home design and I now employ over 12 workers and several sub-contractors to work on various jobs.  To say I am busy in an understatement.  One day I could be putting together a garage, the next I could be caulking an apartment building.
One dilemma I find in hiring others is that they often don’t do nearly as good as job as I feel I do, especially when it comes to painting.  After being frustrated with several painters I have decided to purchase the Graco X5 airless paint sprayer to do many jobs myself.  Here is a review of how that has worked for me.
Overview of the Graco X5
This Graco paint sprayer has a gun that is made out of metal and ½ HP motor. It can be powered by both a household current and a 1500 Watt generator. It comes with a power flush cleaning adaptor that is supposed to ease the burden of cleanups. And it includes a twenty-five foot airless house and a pump.
Pros
You can directly pump paint from the container– The number one feature that I loved about this product was that I could directly pump paint from a 1 or 5 gallon paint container. This was different than similar sprayers that I have used in the past and saved me a ton of time and energy.
Works well– I have worked with some paint sprayers in the past and I didn’t really like them.   While I only did some small painting over the past 10 years, I usually went with a traditional roller. With the Graco X5 I was pleasantly surprised at the smooth application of the paint.
Good up high–Â I am frequently painting in high spots on a ladder or scaffolding of some kind and this sprayer gives me no issues when I am up high. Â It doesn’t shift or move like some lower cost sprayers.
Affordable alternative– As previously mentioned I had wasted money on contractors in the past. This is an affordable alternative to hiring a contractor and it is something I take with me on my truck on a regular basis. After doing research on this paint sprayer, I can honestly say that this is the best airless sprayer for the money.
Saves a ton of time– The best part about using a paint sprayer to complete projects is that it saves me a ton of time. In the past, it would take a couple of days in order to paint a 300 square foot room. When I use the paint sprayer to complete projects, it only takes a couple of hours. It saves me a ton of time and allows me to go home early.
Better for wood panels– Rollers are almost impossible to use in old New England homes that have wood panels. The paint sprayer is more effective on wood panels because the paint doesn’t get caught in the cracks. I never realized that using a paint sprayer could help me get the lines and cracks that can be almost impossible to reach.
Cons
Hard to clean– Even though this paint sprayer works extremely well, it is also hard to clean. This is a big problem for people who plan on using the paint sprayer for multiple projects in a short period of time.
Overall opinion
I would highly recommend the Graco X5 Airless Paint Sprayer to any contractor and/or homeowner who is looking for a good airless paint sprayer.  For my job as a home builder who could be painting ceilings one minute and painting a fence the next, I feel that this is a great paint sprayer and would highly recommend it to anyone.
Graco Project Painter Plus Airless Sprayer Review by Kevin Looney
The following review was done by Kevin Looney, who is a first-time owner of a paint sprayer. Â Mr. Looney has little experience in painting and chose the Graco Project Painter Plus after reading online reviews.
My Background
Hi, my name is Kevin Looney and I am doing a review on the Graco Project Painter Plus Airless Sprayer. My day job is in the finance field and I have little to no experience with painting projects outside painting my son’s room and a few small jobs I have done around my own house. I decided to invest in the Graco Project Painter as I am looking to sell my home next year and wanted to paint various rooms over the summer.  Here is a review of how this airless paint sprayer has worked for me.
Overview
If you are in the market for a new airless paint sprayer, then you might
want to consider the Graco Project Painter Plus. This is a light duty sprayer that works well for a variety of types of painting jobs. I bought this particular sprayer about a month ago, and I have had nothing but good experiences when using it.
If you are looking for an economical sprayer that is going to get the job done right, this is definitely a good one to choose. Here you will find some great information about the product and why I love it so much.
Features
First, let’s take a closer look at the features of the Graco Project Painter Plus. It is a light duty sprayer that works well for most common paint applications. It has a 2.5-gallon paint hopper with a disposable liner which makes cleaning up a breeze. The piston pump is made up of hardened stainless steel, and it has a power plug light that helps to show you that it has a good power source. Other features include:
·        515 reversible tip
·        25 foot paint hose
·        Quick start guide
·        Reverse-a-clean spray hose
·        3/8 HP motor
It is basically a very powerful, lightweight machine too, which is easy on the hands and back.
Price
Next, we need to look at the price of this paint sprayer. One thing that you will notice when shopping for a paint sprayer is that they range in price, from very cheap to very expensive. If you want one that is going to get the job done right, you can’t opt for the cheapest one out there. You get what you pay for, or at least that is true in most cases. This one sells right at $225, which means that it is one of the best airless paint sprayers for the money.
Consumer Reviews
Since I am not in the painting trade, online reviews are very important to me before making an investment in any type of tool. I looked through as many Graco airless paint sprayer reviews as possible before choosing one that I thought would best fit my budget (under $300) and that was a reputable brand and sprayer.
Where to Buy
Finally, we will take a look at where you can buy the Graco Project Painter Plus. Some people would prefer to go into their local paint store and find this model, but the truth is that most hardware stores and paint stores only carry a few different brands. For a larger selection of paint sprayers, you really need to do your shopping online. You can also get a better deal when shopping online for this particular paint sprayer because you will be able to compare the prices from various retailers.
The Bottom Line
I was really surprised at how easy it was to paint interior walls with the Graco Project Painter Plus. While I don’t have much experience with other sprayers, as a person who works with numbers I feel that this is a great sprayer for the relatively low cost.  After using this for the past few weekends, I have learned a lot about painting and feel that this is a great choice for the newbie or first time home owner looking to do a few DIY projects.
My Two Cents
I hope you enjoyed both of our Graco Airless Paint Sprayer Reviews.  As someone who has extensive experience in using a variety of paint sprayers and guns, I always like to hear what others say about a specific paint sprayer.  I feel that both of these readers were able to give solid reviews.
As someone with experience with both of these models, I think that they each chose the right model for their particular needs, the Graco X5 for general contractor/daily use and the Graco Project Painter Plus for a homeowner who may use this a few times a month.  Graco is probably the best manufacturer when it comes to paint sprayers and I think that you can’t go wrong with either of these choices.
